... enjoy the nature ...

The alpine pasture of the region Mariazeller Land is appealing in various ways. The impressing mountain summits in harmony with wide valleys and alpine pastures offers every visitor a personal hiking experience to both – the leisure walker as well as the sporty climber.

The rough gorges Ötschergräben are famous for the fresh air and the clear rivers. Also very charming is a hiking tour through the gorge Salzaklamm or the Klausgraben along the wild romantic river Salza. For all, who want to go higher the mountain Hochschwab, which is about 2000m high, or the mountain Ötscher, which is one of the highest summits of Lower Austria, would be ideal.

A variety of green alpine pastures like the Herrenboden or the Königsalm invite hikers to a traditional Styrian snack in a cozy hut. Also walking tours around the idyllic lake Erlaufsee, along the secluded lake Hubertussee in the Walster or the reservoir in Mitterbach offer relaxation from the stress and everyday life.

The region Mariazeller Land hiking map you get in the tourism office or at your accommodation and you can find the map under “Downloads“.
